PCDEM’s shelter services can vary depending on the size and impact of the incident. For inclement weather events, support may be an accessible warming/cooling tent where a few staff are needed to monitor guests and communicate issues to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Larger incidents may include a full-scale shelter where guests can sleep, eat, and access additional disaster-related services.

Operations of a State Initiated Regional Shelters, recovery centers, or support local and regional sheltering operations to house individuals displaced by a disaster event. These operations will require staffing by individuals vetted and trained to provide services directly to the public for these particular mass care operations.
