BackgroundEnhancing the signal hardware (lenses, back-plates with retro-reflective borders, mounting, size and number) will provide better visibility of intersection signals and aid the drivers in advance perception of the upcoming intersection. This should both reduce speeds at intersections and raise awareness, resulting in fewer rear end collisions.
