Project Description: The project consists of extending the existing potable water transmission system for the Catalyst site from the existing water treatment plant located north of US 90 to the interchange at I-10. The construction will consist of +/- 17,000 LF of 12-inch PVC water main, including a jack and bore railspur crossing and appurtenances. C. Owner requires the Project to be completed in 180 calendar days. D.
As a part of the treatment process, water is pumped from the on-site clarifier which separates the suspended solids from the water to and through the microfiltration system to filter out particles left in the water after the clarifier process. The air compressor is required to operate the valves in the microfiltration system and backwash filtration membranes.There are currently two air compressors in place to support operations.
Reef substrate will be installed per the plan drawings and specifications on the project site in water depths ranging from approximately 0.96’ MLLW to 0.10’ MLW
Reef substrate will be installed per the plan drawings and specifications on the project site in water depths ranging from approximately 7.0? MLLW to 8.3? MLLW. The construction period of performance will be approximately 720 days from issuance of the NTP.
Irrigation system shall be altered to water efficiently with new layout. A retention pond shall be constructed on the south east corner of the site to aid in collecting storm water from the site. New light poles are included in the project to enhance night visibility. Added on Feb 4, 2020:Adding a per unit cost for soils. Provide unit cost for sub base material.
The project also replaces existing mechanical joint piping from the well site to the water plant building, an emergency generator and security fencing with gates. The existing Well No. 4 will be abandoned in accordance with State guidelines and the deteriorated well house, driveway and parking lot will be removed and the area returned to a natural condition.
