Collins Aerospace is the prime developer of both the E-6B Mission System and VLF system, and is currently under contract with NAVAIRSYSCOM to provide upgrades and sustainment of these systems. They are the only source with the requisite experience, technical data, secure development labs and test facility that are capable to fulfill this requirement.

The Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) Engineering and Technical Services (SETS) contract is a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract line item and has an expected potential value of approximately $39.7 million. The three-year performance period begins March 1 and is followed by two, one-year options, which would end no later than Feb. 28, 2028.
