In preparation for an upcoming procurement, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division, Norfolk, VA on behalf of the Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (OMAO), is conducting market research to determine potential sources for a side scan sonar winch for the NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson.

The milti-purpose winch has to operate a side scan sonar system onboard a research vessel at Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary (WSCNMS) to document and monitor known sanctuary resources, and to systematically locate currently undiscovered resources, the sanctuary has purchased a side scan sonar system. A shipboard multi-purpose winch is required to utilize this system.
