Work Description: Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to: -Light to heavy float and wharf repairs in both the North and South Harbours, - Float repairs replacement of bull rail, decking, rubboard, pile group blocking and flanges and installation of pontoons. -Wharf repairs replacement of cross-braces, cap and piles (fender and bearing) and pile straps and installation of handrail and wheel guard.
The North Floats and gangway are replaced. The South Floats and gangway are added. Site Improvements include new sewer service to the bait building and upgrades to electrical service, lighting, and communications; preparation for solar panels; replacement and relocation of fuel tanks; and parking area improvements.
Channel markers — 11 in North Cove, 2 in South Cove, 6 in Middle Cove. Floats — Town Dock at Main Street, Mack Lane and Town Park (ramps for Mack Lane and Town Park to be stored with floats). Navigational aids and buoys shall be set according to directive of onboard EHMC representative. Removal to be performed on or after November 15, 2022 and completed by November 30, 2022.
The project would be completed in three phases: 1) Drilling and blasting bedrock to -10 feet MSL depth for an estimated 3,000 cubic yards (CY) of bedrock; 2) Extraction of fractured cut rock to construct the north and south seawalls (constructed to plan specs and feature 1:1.3 slope); and 3) Drilling and anchoring of two 6-inch steel piers to a depth of -10 feet MSL followed by installation of the float-supported boat slip.
