This unit was burned in the fall of 2018, and planted in spring of 2019. The objective is to release these seedlings from competitive vegetation (Canada & bull thistle, elderberry, marestail, and thimbleberry). Minimal slope throughout the unit. Unit 12 (128 acres - Release) is part of the Roast Duck timber sale (TS424142). This unit was burned in the fall of 2018, and planted in spring of 2019.
Unit C1 (Clagstone 1) – This unit is the majority of unit 1 of the Sheep To Market timber sale (TS204356) and was logged in the spring of 2021 to an overstory removal prescription. However, a wind event during the wet spring resulted in the advanced regeneration blowing over. Later that year the unit was slashed and excavator piled with piles burned in the fall. This unit is 79 acres. Spraying of existing natural trees should be avoided.
