Berens River Bridge Replacement and Associated Roadworks Project Description :Construction of a new 72 metre clear-span steel girder bridge over Berens River and associated roadworks. The existing bridge is a single span steel beam bridge 31’-9” (+/-) long and 33’-1” (+/-) wide. The new bridge is a single span steel girder bridge, 40’-0” long and 43’-8 1⁄2” wide, with 40’-8” of clear roadway. The proposed typical section includes two 12’-0” lanes and shoulder widths that vary between 8’-0” and 8’-8”. The proposed bridge will be founded on steel H-piles.

The project involves maintenance painting of below deck structural steel members that have been exhibiting varying degrees of paint loss and/or corrosion. Bourne Bridge is a seven span structural steel vehicular traffic truss bridge spanning across the Cape Cod Canal with a total length of about 2,400 feet. The bridge carries four lanes of vehicular traffic, two lanes in each direction into and off Cape Cod.
