Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking information on the qualifications of Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firms/teams interested in providing A/E Services for the Storm Drain Project, FY19, as described herein. The work consists of storm drain condition assessment; in addition to engineering design of storm drain repair strategies and new storm drain systems.
The POR will be developed by the selected A/E and should include comprehensive survey/field investigation of the existing site and surrounding areas to evaluate the road and storm drain condition in relation to the project scope described above, and in relation to the project budget. Testing of road base compaction, material testing and survey services should be accounted for by the design professional.
The City of Burlington experienced a significant storm event in the Fall of 2019 which resulted in damage to the City’s East wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) effluent outfall. A portion of the 24-inch outfall pipe was washed away and a nearby storm drain experienced a similar failure.
The selected firm will receive any asset information the City may have for the street and sidewalk facilities and storm drain plans.
