This D5LE2 effort will also support the Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Flight Subsystem prime integrationto ensure an overall Flight Subsystem solution, and flight test data acquisition and analysis, and will provide architectures, requirements, and preliminary designs to alter and extend the D5LE missile life.

The contract also includes component and technology development, Missile Tube Module and Reactor Compartment Bulkhead prototyping and manufacturing efforts, and UK Strategic Weapon Support System kit manufacturing for the COLUMBIA Class Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarines (SSBNs). This contract includes foreign military sales to the United Kingdom.

Further this contract action was not awarded on a fixed-price basis as the conditions stated at FAR 16.301-2(a) have been met.This modification includes additional United Kingdom (UK) Strategic Weapon Support System kit manufacturing and Supplier Development in support of construction of COLUMBIA Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarines.The industrial base development work is for the furtherance of the Fiscal Year 2022 National Defense Authorization Act
