Description: Installation of speed humps on Dover Street and modified speed humps on Lake Shore Drive.
Improvements contemplated under this Project include the street repair, speed hump construction, and addition of bicycle lane and parallel parking along Bassett Street and Laurelwood Road. The street repair plans will require the assessment of the existing conditions, as the damage of some areas of Bassett Street are more severe than others.
The City desires to have contractors available to perform the rehabilitation of damaged asphalt streets, including, but not limited to asphalt patching and base repairs, milling, repaving with HMA, and the removal and replacement of thermoplastic street markings and speed humps at various locations throughout the City.
See Attachment A, Speed Survey Street Segments, for a map of the street segments.The consultant will:Conduct speed survey in each speed zone;Identify roadway, traffic, and roadside conditions not readily apparent to the driver that may affect speed zones;Recommend the speed limit in each speed zone in accordance with Section 2B.13, Speed Limit Sign (R2-1), of the latest edition of the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD)

This segment of the sidewalk will include pedestrian scale lighting and street trees. Speed cushions will be installed on Russell Rd and 240th St. The Hogan Park parking lot will be overlayed with 2” of HMA.
