    The purpose of this requirement is to provide users the skills and knowledge to keep themselves, fellow Soldiers, family members, friends, and others safe from suicide.  In 2018, Army Directive 2018-07-7, Prioritizing Efforts – Readiness and Lethality (Update 7) removed Ask, Care, Escort training as the training curriculum for suicide awareness training. Suicide awareness training was replaced at the discretion of the Commander.
