INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUNDThe Runway Status Lights (RWSL) system uses surveillance data provided by the Airport Surface Detection Equipment Model X (ASDE-X) and the Airport Surface Surveillance Capability (ASSC) systems to reduce the chance of runway incursions and certain classes of runway accidents.
This is a market survey for the manufacture of Airport Surface Detection Equipment Model-X (ASDE-X) Encoders, NSN 5841-01-516-2869.The purpose of this announcement is to conduct a market Survey to solicit statements of interest and capabilities from interested vendors, in accordance with FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.1.2.1.
The surveillance systems include but are not limited to the Airport Surface Detection Equipment Model-X (ASDE-X), Wide Area Multi-lateration (WAM), and Airport Surface Surface Surveillance Capability (ASSC).
