This is a notice to announce an upcoming Request for White Paper (RFWP) through the Sensors, Communications, and Electronics Consortium (SCEC) for the Development, Research, and Engineering of Small Tactical Electric Power (STEP) Lightweight Generators Set effort. The overall goal of the STEP Lightweight Generators Set is for development of a lightweight generator prototype. 

This is a notice to announce that a Solicitation (specifically a Request for Prototype Proposals) has been issued through the Sensors, Communications, and Electronics Consortium (SCEC) for the Small Tactical Electric Power (STEP)-Lightweight effort.  This notice and the associated solicitation documents are issued according to the authority provided under 10 U.S.C. § 2371b, Other Transaction Authority.

Small Tactical Electric Power (STEP) IDIQ documents will be uploaded under Notice ID W909MY-21-R-0007.This acquisition is a restricted Small Business Set-A-Side under the North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 335312, Motor and Generator Manufacturing with a size standard of 1,250 employees.

The Small Tactical Electric Power (STEP) program within Product Manager, Mobile Electric Power Systems (PM MEPS), will address these requirements but will not be fielded until Fiscal Year (FY) 2028.

IntroductionThis Solicitation is for the award of up to three (3) Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) contracts for a new/improved SmallTactical Electric Power (STEP) 3 kilowatt (kW) generator.
