Army Contracting Command, New Jersey, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 on behalf of Project Manager Towed Artillery Systems (PM TAS) intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a new sole source Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract for Electronic Thermal Warning Devices (ETWDs) to Design West Technologies (DWT) 2701 Dow Avenue, Tustin, CA, 92780.

The ETWD is a replacement for the M776 Cannon's Thermal Warning Device.  The device is designed to measure and indicate the cannon's temperature to the M777 Crew.  Used during 'check fire' operation, the ETWD provides the crew with a color indication of the tubes temperature, corresponding to the appropriate standard operating procedures they follow. NSN 11582612 (ETWD Kit) is currently fielded on the M777 Howitzer.

Pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, this contract remains sole source and continues to include the same requirements for the procurement of Electronic Thermal Warning Device (ETWD) Kits and Parts in support of the M777A2 Howitzer. The contract duration remains unchanged.

In addition, the Contractor shall participate in trouble shooting and diagnostic review of failures and issues that could occur during the acceptance firing, including all GFE equipment (HyPAK, Cannon & Primer Feed Mechanism (PFM) and Electronic Thermal Warning Device) On Site Field Representative.

R27-SP65 Low-Clearance Early Warning Devices 7/31/2024 The state of Illinois recently passed legislation requiring IDOT to establish a pilot program to install devices on or near bridges over roadways that warn drivers of low clearances. The aim of this project is to help identify potentially effective devices and technologies that can be installed to help reduce bridge strikes in Illinois.
