The Harmful Algal Bloom Monitoring & Reference branch utilizes trap-based triple quadrupole mass spectrometers coupled to liquid chromatography systems to detect and quantify trace levels of algal toxins and their metabolites from a variety of environmental matrices while the Chemical Contaminants Research (CCR) group with the Ecotoxicology branch requires a trap-based triple quad mass spectrometer (MS/MS) to detect and quantify low to trace levels
