For near ship operations, the UAS will be used for surveillance and over watch during maritime interdiction and boarding operations. Within the littoral environment, the UAS will be used for surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting of coastal threats. The UAS will be embarked on the Halifax-class frigates either in Halifax, Nova Scotia or Esquimalt, British Columbia. There are security requirements associated with this requirement.
