Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing this Sources Sought Announcement to determine interest, availability, and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned, and Small Business concerns for installation of a Composite Cap over contaminated mine waste associated with the Callahan Mine Superfund Site in Brooksville, Maine. We intend to award an Invitation for Bid (IFB).

Disposal of hazardous waste is the sole responsibility of the Contractor. Disposal and chain of custody manifests shall be provided to the Owner at the completion of the project. RFP/RFQ Stipulations: - Potential bidders shall participate in a mandatory site walk-through. - Bidders will provide two (2) current references, consisting of existing customers, shall be listed in the proposal.

The manufacturing operations at the RFAAP generate Energetic Waste (EW) and Energetic Contaminated Waste (ECW).  Due to the safety hazards associated with over the road transportation to a disposal facility, on-site disposal is preferred. EW generated at RFAAP comes from multiple sources, such as process waste (shavings), rejected material, pit waste, and other direct process sources.
