Additionally, all steel water piping infrastructure in and around Building 420 requires replacement, with pipes resized for the flows from the new pumps, and equipped with new valves and fittings to provide simplicity of maintenance and repairs.
This includes the integration of hot water piping into the existing infrastructure tied to the steam-to-hot water heat exchangers which are to be demo’d as noted on the mechanical plans. One (1) of the existing steam boilers has been demo’d by the Owner as noted on the mechanical plans to make room for two (2) of the new hot water boilers.The addition of two (2) hydronic heaters for the boiler room’s freeze protection shall also be included.

The proposed work consists of the installation of approximately 1,100-LF of 14-inch HDPE water main via horizontal directional drill (HDD) under College Creek and installation of all associated piping and appurtenances for connection to existing water main infrastructure associated with the College Creek Water Main Crossing. Installation of (2) - 2” HDPE conduits and 2 associated junction boxes.
