Work will be completed at the Alaska Railroads Whittier Port Terminal following the given sheets and specifications. The furnished concrete barriers are designed around the CAT 988K Wheel Loader with a mid-axle height of 3.2 feet. Work will be performed in an active marine terminal. Work windows shall be planned around barge schedules. The barge slip shall remain operational for barge operations.
This project would relocate one existing mooring dolphin and associated access gangway structures at the Whittier ferry terminal to accommodate the new Alaska Class Ferry (ACF) vessel. Work would also include refurbishing a transfer bridge floor beam connection located near the abutment end and miscellaneous structural work including: girder access hatch repairs, transfer bridge deck holdown repairs, and repair of dolphin fender brackets.
