The information gained will assist in developing the acquisition strategy for the Army Contracting Command’s requirement for a new Wind Tunnel System. Please see attached RFI for additional information.

AeroLab is the manufacturer of the existing wind tunnel equipment and software and to upgrade the existing equipment to meet current standards, AeroLab is the only provider that can perform this work and provide the resources to make the system work. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-015. Section 5.20 no later than the closing date indicated on the website.

The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk Contracting Department, Norfolk, VA 23511-3392, intends to award a sole source, Firm Fixed-Price, Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) requirement type contract to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Indoor Skydiving Virginia, LLC, for Vertical Wind Tunnel support services in support of U.S.

Specific requirements are as follows:The VWT shall:Meet or exceed 14 feet in diameter, 52 feet in height, and contain a climate controlled recirculating flight chamber.Accommodate four (4) students at one time.Provide a wind tunnel that incorporates a make-up air system, allowing the antechamber to remain open while the tunnel still runs.Facility wind speed will be sufficient to lift a parachutist wearing tunnel-safe parachutes and equipment bags.Contractor

The APPL HWT are the only ones with the necessary equipment and facilities to conduct hypersonic wind tunnel test conditions that will be representative of aerodynamic properties given an acceptable lead time and cost.  The APPL HWT are subject matter experts and possess extensive experience in hypersonic wind tunnel testing. Please include shipping/freight/travel cost to Blacksburg, VA 24061-6100.
