The Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) hereby requests proposals for the repair of a Ram Air Turbine motor. The Ram Air Turbine motor tests small wind turbines that connect to a hydraulic pump installed on an aircraft to help with the in air refueling process. The RAT houses a three-phase-wye medium-voltage (4160/2300 volts) induction type motor that weighs in excess of 1000 pounds and is driven by variable speeds under computer control.
The company was the designer/inventor of the closed circuit wind tunnel that was previously purchased by the government, and therefore are uniquely qualified to determine the optimal motor and control system for the NDBC wind tunnel based on the company’s proprietary knowledge to determine the proper motor/controller combination as well as the sensing elements.
