In the Statement of Work (H) it states that the VA elevator maintenance contractor will operate the elevators during the annual inspection. Will they also operate the elevators, physically perform inspections, and provide the test weights for the Category 5 inspections? RESPONSE: Yes. the maintenance contractor operates the elevators, physically performs inspections, and provides the test weights for the Category 5 inspections.
GENERAL SCOPE: The Contractor shall furnish and install all labor; tools and materials necessary to make semi-annual maintenance inspections and witness annual and Semi-Annual on Climate Master WSHP and Armstrong 4380 Pumps at both the Grist Mill and Mansion buildings at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Perry Point in accordance with the terms, conditions, provisions, specifications, and schedules of this proposal as follows: REQUIREMENTS
Contractor shall provide semi-annual inspections and documentation on seventeen (17) Traction Elevators, eight (8) Hydraulic Elevators, and three (3) Dumbwaiters. Contractor shall witness annual hydraulic pressure relief tests on eight (8) Hydraulic Elevators.
The contractor shall furnish and install all labor; tools and materials necessary to make semi-annual maintenance inspections and witness annual and Semi-Annual safety tests of elevators, dumbwaiters, and cart lifts at both Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Washington, DC and Fisher House (Washington DC Campus) in accordance with the terms, conditions, provisions, specifications, and schedules of this proposal.
