The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement: Product and/or Service to be purchased:CONNEX Utah Subscription Sole Source Supplier:I5 Services Earliest Proposed Purchase Date:11/21/2023 Buyer Name:Trent Blair Sole Source Justification: CONNEX Utah is a SaaS Supply Chain Database platform developed by i5 Services, a Utah-based technology business, in conjunction with the Utah MEP over 15 years ago. CONNEX Marketplace is the only platform in the U.S. that – Provides both national- and

state-level access to all U.S. Manufacturers Protects manufacturer data. Has an exclusive partner network of 140+ partners encompassing federal, state, industry, academia, and more. Allows manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers to post and respond to needs, visualize supply chain risk, search for qualified suppliers, discover new business opportunities, and directly connect to create valuable business relationships in a single, accurate, searchable database. Is built by and for manufacturers: industry-led, driven, and focused. Effectively solves state and national manufacturing ecosystem challenges. Works with and for all manufacturers across industries and sectors (e.g., defense, aerospace, etc.) Access can be found on the Utah-MEP website ­https://utah-mep.org/connex-utah/. The Utah-MEP applied for a $400k Grant from NIST called the Utah-MEP Supply Chain Optimization and Intelligence Network Expansion Award Application – March 2023. As part of that application and eventual award was the use of CONNEX Utah. The budget included $65k for the first and second year of the award. This SaaS software is used by Manufacturers across Utah, but not on campus by students or faculty.
