Description

Scope of Services
SGC.3: Water Quality Planning and Engineering
General: The selected consultant(s) may be required to provide a variety of water quality planning and engineering services as directed by the Department. Selected firms need to demonstrate an understanding of water quality regulations pertinent to Santa Barbara County, in particular the Clean Water Act and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal General Permit for storm water discharges. Typical tasks associated with this category include:
1. Engineering studies and modeling related to hydromodification and post construction regulations
2. Preparation of regulatory-required documents, such as Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) implementation plans
3. Technical review and comment on proposed water quality regulations
4. Technical assistance for planning/development projects to ensure NPDES permit compliance
5. Review and comment on stormwater submittals for land development projects
6. Best Management Practice design and implementation
7. Watershed planning
8. Water quality monitoring planning and implementation
9. Technical assistance as required on issues pertaining to water quality and storm water management
