This spending can be a critical part of strategies to facilitate business growth for our region’s diverse small businesses and in particular to create more equity for businesses owned and operated by women, people of color and others that have traditionally had less access to government contracting networks. The purpose of the Inclusive Contracting Toolkits project is to develop a roadmap that contains best practices and implementable actions, to provide public sector agencies and anchor institutions with direction on how to expand economic opportunities for small, minority-, woman-, and veteran-owned businesses Objectives: • Document common barriers that small, diverse businesses in the SCAG region face in relation to accessing procurement and contracting opportunities • Support policy makers and local jurisdictions in the SCAG region in envisioning and implementing inclusive procurement practices to address barriers • Support local anchor institutions in diversifying their supply chain to support the local economy • Develop best practices for, and practical solutions to, the opportunities and barriers in inclusive procurement and contracting in the SCAG region Please review the attached RFP for the complete Scope of Work. Other Details The assigned Contracts Administrator is the only person to contact during the selection process and may be contacted at anytime.
