AMENDMENT 1 of SOURCES SOUGHT - A Set-Aside Classification of a Total Small Business Set-Aside was inadvertently selected at time of original Sources Sought Posting. There is currently NO Set-Aside Classification as this is a sources sought and for the purposes of identifying potential sources pursuant to FAR Part 10, Market Research and FAR Part 19, Small Business Programs. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify potential sources capable of performing the effort described herein pursuant to FAR Part 10, Market Research and FAR Part 19, Small Business Programs. Respondents should not construe this notice as a commitment by the Air Force for any purpose, and should refrain from providing proprietary information in the response.INTRODUCTION: This is the initial step in the planning process for the Bird Avoidance Model/ Avian Hazard Advisory System (BAM/AHAS) Support for the Air Force Safety Center.The 377 Mission Support Group Contracting Division (MSG/PK) at KAFB seeks sources with the following capability and interest to provide the following:The objectives of this effort are to enhance the current United States Air Force (USAF) Bird Hazard Warning system by leveraging technological advances and available data (e.g., integration of the BDR and formal wildlife survey data) to boost the long-range safety benefits of the Bird/wildlife Air Strike Hazard (BASH) program.Refer to the attached draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) for additional details regarding the subject requirement.The effort is expected to result in a Firm-Fixed-Price contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is anticipated to be 541690 – Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services. The size standard for NAICS code 541690 is $16,500,000.00. INSTRUCTIONS: All interested businesses capable demonstrating the ability to meet the draft PWS are invited to respond electronically with Statement of Capabilities (SOCs). Do NOT merely reiterate the objectives or reformulate the requirements specified in the attached draft Performance Work Statement. Do NOT include any marketing material in the capabilities statement.Responses shall include company name, address, DUNS number, CAGE code, point of contact with email address and telephone number, and indicate business size (small business, small disadvantaged business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, economically disadvantaged woman-owned small business, woman-owned small business, or HUBZone) using NAICS code 541690, size standard $16,500,000.00. The Air Force reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside for any subsequent acquisition based upon responses to this notice. Small business respondents should provide an SOC to assist the Air Force in making a set-aside decision.SOCs are limited to 5 pages, using Times Roman 12 Font in word searchable format. The SOC should demonstrate capability to provide the requirements as identified in the draft SOW and specifications sheet.
