Description: The City of Ferguson is accepting bids for contract mowing services to cut vegetation on residential, commercial and industrial properties that are in violation of the City's ordinance for overgrown vegetation. Overgrown vegetation is primarily grass and weeds (exceeding 7 inches but up to 24 inches), but can also include unbridled growth of wild vines, shrubs, or other vegetation. Properties should be cut and trimmed in a workmanlike manner. The City is also accepting bids for other nuisance abatement services including removal of downed tree limbs, trash, debris, open storage, and other debris and yard waste when necessary. This may include minor trimming/removal of tree branches and other items. Publication Date/Time: 3/4/2020 12:00 AM Publication Information: St. Louis Countian / St. Louis American Closing Date/Time: 3/18/2020 2:00 PM Submittal Information: City Clerk's Office Bid Opening Information: 110 Church St. Ferguson MO Contact Person: Please direct all
inquiries to Matt Unrein, Director of Public Works at 314-524-4721 or email at munrein@fergusoncity.com. Qualifications: The successful Bidder(s) will need to have multiple mowers, equipment and manpower sufficient to cut & clean approximately 25-40 properties a week during the grass season (May 1 – October 15), and/or for nuisance abatement purposes. Narrow walk behind mowers, push mowers, and flail mowers or the like to cut fenced backyards with gates and tall overgrowth. Miscellaneous: A Bidder may bid on one or both projects. Three (3) non-related references must be provided for each bid. While bid price is a factor, the City reserves the right to select the bid that offers the greatest overall value related to the nuisance abatement services referenced in this RFP and not simply to the lowest Bidder. The City also reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Nothing in this RFP is intended to be, nor should anything herein be construed as, an offer of engagement. A selection or designation of a successful Bidder shall not be construed as an offer of engagement until and unless a contract is fully negotiated and signed by the City and the winning Bidder. If awarded the bid, a list of nuisance properties will be provided to the winning Bidder by the City on a daily and/or weekly basis. The successful Bidder must be willing to sign a contract with the City, incorporating the terms and conditions of the RFP as well as certain other terms as the City may deem necessary.
