Material Recovery Facility Engineering Services

Request For Professional ServicesThe County is seeking professional engineering services for a proposed new single-stream Materials Recovery Facility to process and market recyclable materials.The County anticipates awarding a CCNA Specific Project Agreement to run for the duration of the project.Refer to the Solicitation Documents and Attachments section for minimum qualifications, scope/specifications, and insurance requirements. BackgroundThe proposed facility may serve as a regional processing location for recyclables from sources including, but not limited to, the cities within Sarasota County or other government agencies outside Sarasota County.The site has not been selected but is expected to be located on existing County-owned property. The property may be undeveloped and require environmental, siting, permitting, and zoning services.The County anticipates that development of the facility will be accomplished using a public-private partnership with a design, build, finance, own, operate, and maintain (“DBFOOM”) contract model. The form of the contract will adhere to the requirements of Florida Statute Chapter 255.065 for public-private partnerships.Consultant shall provide engineering services throughout all approved phases of the project.
