THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT.  NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) OF 333249 OTHER INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY MANUFACTURING WITH A SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD OF 500 EMPLOYEES IS TO BE USED FOR MARKET ANALYSIS ONLY TO DETERMINE THE AVAILABILITY OF POTENTIAL BIDDERS AND SMALL BUSINESS CATEGORIES FOR POTENTIAL SET-ASIDES.  NO AWARDS WILL BE MADE FROM THIS SOURCES SOUGHT.  NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME; THEREFORE, DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION.  ALL RESPONSES WILL BE USED TO DETERMINE THE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION STRATEGY FOR FUTURE ACQUISITION.2. Rome Research Lab, NY is conducting market research to identify potential sources of a 3D Metal Printer meeting our minimum specifications and to include the listed additional equipment, installation, and training.  The minimum specifications include:The build chamber must be at least 30 cm x 30 cm x 45 cm. The minimum spot size should be under 100
microns. The layer thickness should be adjustable to less than 25 microns. The system must be able to print the following metals: titanium alloy, aluminum alloy, nickel alloy, stainless steel, copper alloy, and invar (Invar 36) or Super Invar. The atmosphere inside of the chamber while printing must be controlled using inert gasses with less than 100 ppm oxygen during the printing process. The software controlling the printer hardware must accept standard 3D CAD files like STL.  The laser system must have two beams to increase the manufacturing speed to at least 50 cubic cm/hr. The system must include PPE (glasses and masks) to protect the operator(s). The software must allow full customization of the print parameters to control the machine parameters and settings as well as the analysis of 3D CAD files. The order must include installation of the unit NOT to include making the electrical connection.  Train a minimum of 4 people for at least 5 full days of training. The system must also include the following accessories so that the printer may be operated upon delivery: industrial vacuum cleaner, vacuum dry oven, explosion-proof powder sieving machine, an annealing oven that can hold a 30 cm x 30 cm x 40 cm object, a sand blasting machine, a wire cutting machine, a nitrogen generator, and should include at least 30 kg of aluminum alloy (AlSi10Mg) and invar powder for immediate use.3.
