The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is seeking proposals from qualified landscape architecture and land planning firms, as well as individual practitioners, with at least five years of experience and demonstrated ability to perform tasks in these and related fields. Experience and ability for landscape architects and planning consultants shall include, but not be limited to, the following: comprehensive site analysis, land use planning and master planning, trail planning, and all phases of landscape architecture and construction administration services, for parks, recreation projects, natural landscapes, natural and improved surface multi-use trails, natural resource inventories, habitat protection, ecological restoration, and historic and cultural landscapes. Ecological landscaping, low impact development, organic and sustainable land care practices, low maintenance and native plants, and environmentally preferred products, vegetation barriers, infiltration areas, and bio-filtration for water, groundwater, and wetlands protection should be integrally incorporated into design and planning projects. The ability to address landscape and planning issues related to climate change is sought.
