Multi-Function Medical shelters are paramount for continuity of operations during a disaster or other public health emergencies. Shelters provide needed support to healthcare facilities and other responding agencies, allowing them to effectively perform their duties during a disaster or mass casualty event. Without this capacity there is increased risk of negative health outcomes by those affected. Additionally, the shelter could be used to augment isolation and quarantine measures to mitigate the spread of disease, such as pandemic influenza and COVID-19.
