The contractor will support BNL in providing support to the C&A Program in the areas of innovative technologies and IAEA safeguards implementation. As part of this effort, the contractor will assist BNL with several NPAC-sponsored initiatives. One specific area of focus will include the potential benefits and challenges of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to IAEA safeguards. Description of Services:Requires the services of a contractor that can provide technical support in the areas related to:The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its programs in safeguards;Emerging and innovative technologies for safeguards;IAEA strategic planning processes, particularly for application and implementation of innovative and emerging technologies;Current IAEA initiatives related to emerging technologies, such as distributed ledger technology (DLT) and artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), including ;AI/ML, and the application of these technologies to international safeguards;AI/ML initiatives at in the U.S. National Laboratory System.Additionally, the contractor should possess extensive experience in the following areas:Work experience in the U.S. National Laboratory System and in the IAEA Department of Safeguards;In-depth knowledge of the structure of the Department of Safeguards and current Department of Safeguards staffing;Strategic planning experience;Experience in the area of innovative technologies for safeguards, particularly DLT and AI/ML;The IAEA Physical Model and current IAEA inspection practices;IAEA safeguards policy and policy implications of innovative and emerging technologies;Planning and organizing workshops and events to bridge the gap between safeguards policy makers and developer of innovative and emerging technologies;Excellent writing skills and experience drafting technical reports for a non-technical
