BCRPA IDEA Framework Implementation

Summary DetailsThe overall goal of this project is to build capacity for sustained implementation of recreation and sport IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) focused governance, policies, and practices equitably across BC. To support this goal the BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) has set a target of ensuring there are engagement activities and trainers in each region across the province by 2026. These regions are made up of: Northwest, Northeast, Cariboo, Kootenays, Thompson/Okanagan, Fraser Valley, Sea to Sky, and Vancouver Island. These regions will have 1-4 trainers (depending on region population size) who have completed engagement and training within their regions by 2026 using the toolkit and practices developed by this project. The toolkit will be available post 2026 for ongoing training, iteration, development, and sustainment.This project is funded by the Ministry of Health through the BC Alliance for Healthy Living.
