6850--Supplies - Ice Melt and Rock Salt - Ann Arbor

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10, 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, MI 49037, intends to solicit quotes for the supply and delivery of up to 100 tons of bulk ice melt (potassium/magnesium mix pellets) and up to 250 tons of bulk colored rock salt for preparation of facility snow removal at the Ann Arbor VA Healthcare Facility. The ice melt shall be a potassium chloride/magnesium chloride blend (not sodium chloride) to be used in structures. The magnesium acts as a corrosion inhibitor allowing the ice to be melted and the potential damage to metal and concrete in the structure to be minimized. Location for the deliveries will be Ann Arbor VA Medical Center, 2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. Products must be delivered in bulk by the ton and must be delivered with a dump truck. The anticipated contract delivery period is December 15, 2021 through December 14, 2022. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside that will be conducted using FAR Part 13 procedures. The applicable NAICS code is 325998 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The basis of award will be lowest price technically acceptable (LPTA). The solicitation will be made available on or about November 8, 2021 and the solicitation is anticipated to close on or about November 21, 2021. No solicitation is available at this time.
