Riverwalk Enhancement Project Advertisement for Bids The Town of Murphy is accepting bids to construct approximately 200 linear feet of boardwalk on the town’s historic Riverwalk trail, connecting to the existing pedestrian pavilion. Additional work required is the installation of rip-rap at a concrete headwall in front of a pedestrian bridge on the same Riverwalk trail. The bidder, in order to comply with North Carolina General Statutes, must be a licensed contractor registered with the state of North Carolina. All bids must include: • Unit price for rip-rap installation and boardwalk construction in accordance with plan documents. • Name, address, and contact person for the responsive firm. • Proof of Insurance, coverage to apply for all employees for statutory limits in compliance with the applicable state and federal laws. The policy must include employer’s liability with a limit of $100,000 for each accident, $100,000 bodily injury by disease for each employee, and $500,000
bodily injury by disease limit. • Proof of insurance for comprehensive general liability, to include minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence combined with single limit for bodily injury liability and property damage liability. This shall include premises and/or operations, independent contractors, products and/or completed operations, and a contractual liability endorsement. • Anticipated start date and projected number of days needed to complete the work. • Valid contractor’s registration number. Hold Harmless: The Contractor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Town of Murphy from all loss, liability, claims or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from bodily injury, including death or property damage to any person or persons caused in whole or in part by the negligence or willful misconduct of the Contractor except to the extent same are caused by the negligence or misconduct of the Town. Failure to complete the project by deadline will result in penalties determined in the executed contract.
