The vessel will be used to support Cal Poly Humboldt academic programs, scientific research, and public outreach, and thus shall be built according to US Coast Guard inspected passenger vessel CFR Title 46 Chapter I Subchapter T and oceanographic research vessel CFR Title 46 Chapter I Subchapter U.
