The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to issue an award on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)) to VEMCO, a Division of InnovaSea Marine Systems Canada Inc., 20 Angus Morton Drive, Bedford, NS, B4B 0L9 , Canada, for purchase of 28, VEMCO acoustic telemetry tags to be implanted into endangered sturgeon in large coastal rivers of Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and the Mississippi Sound. The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Environmental Laboratory (EL) currently has a need for the primary objective of this project is to evaluate utilization of oyster reef habitat by Gulf Sturgeon prior and post reef construction. This approach relies heavily on monitoring telemetry tagged Gulf Sturgeon within the proposed project areas.  This supply contract can be met by commercially available equipment. VEMCO, a Division of InnovaSea Marine Systems is the only vendor capable of providing this equipment.The intended

procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement.  However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same or similar supply.  All capability statements received by the closing date of this publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.
