Status Active Fiscal Year 2023 Primary Contact Michael Hall Secondary Contact Procurement Division Title MLK Park Call for Artists Number RFP3-23 Type Request for Proposal Online Quote/Bid No Department Procurement Piggyback Solicitation No Insurance Required Yes Bid Bond Required No Bid Bond Amount Scope of Services The City of Winter Park is issuing a Request for Proposals for the design, fabrication, construction, and installation of a permanent, outdoor life size sculpture honoring the life, teachings, dreams, aspirations, and legacy of the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. The proposal shall be at least 1x life-size sculpture, or larger, of Dr. King located on the northeast corner of the Park known as the ‘Memorial Corner’. In addition, the project shall include memorial walls commemorating property owners who lost their land due to eminent domain where this area of the Park now exists. The City of Winter Park shall coordinate furnishing the required names required as part of the wall. Both should be highly visible, open, and welcoming. Efforts as part of the proposal should also include accent lighting and seating with special attention to detract from delivering attractive nuisances.
