NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 2 (NCO 2) hereby gives notice of the Government s intent to sole source a purchase order for a one-time purchase with CME Corp. Formerly known as Claflin Service Company for ENT/Audiology Procedure Chairs. This equipment will be purchased for the ENT/Audiology Department at the James J. Peters VAMC located at 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx NY 10468. The James J. Peters VAMC ENT/Audiology Department needs a procedure chairs that are compatible and standardized to the ones currently in use and one that need to be replaced. This will provide continuity of service and the chairs will have interchangeable parts for service. These chairs need to be 100% ADA compliant. It is the Government s belief that the proposed candidate is the only one that can provide the James J. Peters with the equipment that is needed. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339113
(Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 750 employees and the Federal Supply Code (FSC) is 6515 (Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment and Supplies). This purchase includes the following requirements: The 464 is the only procedure/exam chair that is totally ADA compliant. All government purchases are required to purchase ADA compliant equipment when available. The 464 has an 18.75 entry height (measured from the floor to the top of the seat uncompressed cushion) The 464 has a 775 lbs. patient capacity The 464 has MTI s patented ComfortSync , which eliminates the patient's feeling of sliding out of the chair by providing continuous support for the patient's legs and feet while the backrest is laid down. ComfortSync provides independent, smooth movements of the leg rest and footrest as it follows the natural relationship of the patient s resting legs and feet by automatically extending and maintaining that relationship. The leg rest also extends automatically to compensate for taller patients. Must have a power tilt.
