Services Group: • Yaletown Pet Hospital - General veterinary services • Haven Veterinary Services – Onsite visits, behavioural assessments • Capital Hill Animal Hospital – Small mammals specialist • Arbutus West Animal Clinic – Small mammals, reptiles specialist • Dr. UBI (Independent Vet) – House calls, consultations, on site euthanasia • Night Owl Bird Hospital – Specialize services for birds • Vancouver Animal Emergency (24 Hour Emergency Care) The City is seeking professional, qualified and licensed veterinarians to diagnose, treat and provide care for animals under our care in Vancouver, subject to the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) Code of ethics and BC Veterinarians act SBC 2010. Vancouver Animal Services, Animal Shelter sees, 500 to 1000 animals per year. Animal Intake is primarily dogs but does include other companion animals including small mammals, small marsupials, birds and reptiles and excludes cats. Services include spay and neuter services for those animal we adopt out, and medical and diagnostic care as needed. Euthanasia Services is also needed for compassionate reasons as well as for behavioural and court ordered circumstance around aggressive dog behaviour. The City of Vancouver is intending to contract with the listed veterinarians above for a three (3) year term contract commencing from November 2023 to November 2026, with the possibility to renew two (2) additional three (3) year term to a maximum total term of nine (9) years. The estimated spend on veterinary services and supplies is approximately $420,000 Canadian Dollars over the nine (9) years total contract duration. Veterinary services and supplies are provided on an as needed basis.
