This project consists of renovating the Pueblo El Centro Del Quinto Sol Recreation Center. There are 3 major scopes of work for this project. The first is renovating the basement space to convert it into a cooking class/event space for the public. Second is upgrading the HVAC system by installing new RTU's on the roof along with split systems and electric baseboard heaters around the building. Lastly, before any construction takes place the building must be abated. There is an asbestos report that details the areas of the building that came back positive. The abatement will need to be coordinated so that all areas affected by the renovations are free of asbestos.BackgroundThe El Centro Del Quinto Sol Recreation Center, located at 609 E. 6th Street, was built in the 1880's as a schoolhouse. Over the years, multiple additions have been constructed, leading the building to its current size of 16,128 square feet. The building is constructed of masonry/joisted masonry, with 100% brick exterior. In the 1970s, El Centro was inherited from the School District for use as a recreation center. The Center contains a gym, learning center, activity center, computer room, art room, and science room. As part of this project, asbestos testing was performed by All Phase Environmental Consultants, Inc.TimelineAdvertisement/Release Project Date:March 5, 2024Pre-Bid Meeting (Mandatory):March 12, 2024, 11:00am El Centro del Quinto Sol Recreation Center 609 E 6th St, Pueblo, CO 81001Question Submission Deadline:March 19, 2024, 4:00pmBid Opening:March 27, 2024,
