Construction of the Confederation Basin Promenade located at Battery Park - Kingston, ON.Upcoming ProcurementClosing Date: 05/10/2024 03:00:00 PM ETDetail: NOTICE OF INTENDED PROCUREMENT CITY OF KINGSTON - ONTARIO – CANADA Construction of the Confederation Basin Promenade NOTICE POSTED: March 26, 2024 PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICE: The Corporation of the City of Kingston (“the City”) under its obligations to provide open, transparent, and non-discriminatory access pursuant to Annex 19-1 and Annex 19-6 of Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and Article 103 and Article 504 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) is announcing that it intends to undertake an Request for Proposals (“RFP”) process for the Construction of the Confederation Basin Promenade . The City will be issuing a Request for Proposal for the Construction of the Confederation Basin Promenade, at Battery Park, 3 Gore Street, Kingston, Ontario. The work will include, but will not be limited to: the construction
of a 450-metre-long, structurally reinforced, concrete walkway and knee wall on the existing stone breakwater in Lake Ontario, supported on steel piles with rock anchors, the construction of a steel frame and timber deck on piles on the existing stone breakwater, sheet pile installation, stone handling, shore and/or barge access, installation of concrete hardscape area with stairs, terraces, planters, walls, ramps, shade structure, plantings, and site furnishings pathway and marine lighting site servicing The RFP is expected to be posted publicly in Spring 2024 with an anticipated closing date in early summer 2024. It is expected that Construction will start Summer 2024 and continue until Fall 2025. All interested potential Proponents will be invited to submit responses to the RFP once issued. The RFP will be posted on Biddingo.com - www.biddingo.com/kingston. Without exception, potential Proponents that do not submit responses to the RFP by the submission deadline stated within the RFP document will not be considered. GENERAL: The City assumes no liability, responsibility, or obligation whatsoever to any potential Proponents or other parties with respect to any aspect of this Notice. The City has no obligation to reimburse or in any way compensate any potential Proponents or other parties for expenses incurred in connection with or resulting from its receipt, review, or response to this Notice.
