The land is good bottomland and has occasionally flooded. The leaser shall assume all risk of crop loss. The property is offered for a twelve (12) month period only. No crops are to be planted that cannot be harvested before prior to February 28 th, 2025. The leaser must keep all weeds cut down to two (2) feet or less along the roadways. THE WINNING BIDDER WILL BE REQUIRED TO DISC ONE TIME THE OTHER FIELD, A, APPROXIMATELY 85 ACRES THAT THE CITY IS APPLYING BIO-SOLIDS ON WHEN THE CITY REQUESTS THAT IT IS NEEDED.The leaser must show proof of insurance for $1,000,000.00 liability with the City of Fort Scott as additional insured. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The City will not accept the bid on share cropping, only on a lump sum bid. Please submit a sealed bid to the City Clerk’s Office before 10:00AM, April 1 st, 2024, or mail an envelope marked ‘SEALED BID’ to Attn: City Clerk, 123 S. Main Street, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
