RFP 01-23 Notice of Bid Opportunity - North Buncombe Middle School Security Addition

NOTICE OF BID OPPORTUNITY NORTH BUNCOMBE MIDDLE SCHOOL SECURITY ADDITION Buncombe County Schools is pleased to announce the upcoming bid for the North Buncombe Middle School Security Addition. The project will be an important addition to the School and includes: - Sitework, including but not limited to demolition of existing sidewalks, grading, drainage, and repaving around the new security addition. - Construction of the addition itself including demolition of existing canopy, new footings, structural steel structure, load bearing masonry walls with brick veneer, doors and hardware, interior finishes and other work included in the construction documents. The roof is installed by a separate contractor. GC to coordinate with roofing contractor. - Electrical work includes lighting, power, rough in for low voltage for communication and access control, distribution, and other work included in the construction documents. - Mechanical work includes electrical heater and ventilation fans,

controls and other work included in the construction documents. The expected Award on this project will be the 1st week of March, after approval of the low responsive, responsible bidder by the Board of Education. Construction will take place in Spring and Summer and be complete by mid August 2023. A Pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, 1/25/2023 at 2pm at the North Buncombe Middle School campus, 51 North Buncombe School Road, Weaverville, NC 28787. All attendees shall check in at the main school office. This meeting is highly recommended for general contractors and subcontractors for this single prime, design, bid, build project. The meeting will address project specific requirements, questions, bidding procedures, and bid forms. Sealed proposals will be received by Buncombe County Schools on Wednesday 02/08/2023. Detailed information will be provided at the Pre-Bid meeting and in the posted Contract Documents. Bids will be received for Single Prime. All proposals shall be lump sum and secured by a bond. Complete plans, specifications and contract documents will be posted on the Buncombe County Schools Purchasing website and available for download.
