The Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) and Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC)  invites you to attend the YPG Site visit for the Overhead Crane & Hoist Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair requirement.NOTE: ONLY PARTICIPANTS THAT RESPONDED TO THE GOVERNMENTS RSVP NOTICE WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND DUE TO CAPACITY CONCERNS. ONLY TWO (2) INDIVIDUALS PER VENDOR WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE YPG SITE VISIT.SEND RSVP REQUEST NO LATER THAN 12:00 PM (CENTRAL TIME), JUNE 9, 2021.PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING IN AN EMAIL.SUBJECT LINE: YPG Crane & Hoist Site VisitINCLUDE IN EMAIL:A photo copy of your current State issued Driver's License, ID or current Government issued picture IDCurrent Vehicle RegistrationProof of current insurance for vehicleEMAIL to: Jermain.m.compton.civ@mail.mil and Jacqueline.j.cole.mil@mail.milDate: June 15, 2021LOCATION:The
attendees will proceed to the Visitor Control Center (VCC), Bldg. 2020 and Static Display, located about ½ mile west of the Big Guns on the south side of Imperial Dam Road or Laguna Road as it’s displayed on the map. Please see attached map for location to the VCC, Bldg 2020 on Imperial Dam Road at Yuma Proving Ground.Upon arrival, attendees are to park and walk to the VCC with their driver’s license to be vetted prior to being allowed entry on YPG. If an attendee chooses to drive their own Privately Owned Vehicle (POV), attendees must present their current vehicle registration and proof of insurance to the VCC at time of vetting.A brief YPG Tour Overview and Safety Brief will begin promptly at 0700 or sooner if everyone is vetted sooner than expected. The briefing will take place in the parking lot of the VCC, bldg 2020.Immediately following the briefing, all participants will board the bus provided for the tour, unless their preference is to drive their own vehicle. All attendees are encourage to wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring water or other non-alcoholic beverage. If driving their own vehicle/s, those drivers must travel throughout the tour in a caravan fashion. While traveling on the Range, participants are never to veer off the designated road or stop for any reason other than an emergency for their own safety. The entire tour is about an anticipated 90 miles, please ensure if you decide to use your own vehicle that you have adequate fuel for the entire tour.The tour should end between 11:30am – 12:00pm.The tour will have multiple stops. About once an hour, stops will contain restroom facilities for your use.IMPORTANT NOTES:Smoking is prohibited in all government buildings and while in Government Vehicle.The use of handheld cell phones while driving on YPG is prohibited.The use of cameras or other recording devices is prohibited at ALL Test Sites and while in buildings while on YPG.Firearms are not permitted on YPG and all vehicles are subject to search by YPG Police prior to entry and upon leaving YPG. Any firearm in your possession shall be left in your locked vehicle.YPG assumes no responsibility or liability for any lost, stolen or damaged personal property.Range roads are often rough and dusty and are considered unimproved. A vehicle with tires in good condition and AWD or 4 x 4 is recommended. YPG assumes no responsibility or liability for any damage to attendee’s POV while on YPG. YPG personnel are not authorized to assist with any repairs, i.e. flat tires on any POV.YPG Visitor Center contact number is 928-328-6689.
