The Department is committed to enhancing natural oyster populations within sanctuaries. This contract supports small-scale oyster spat restoration efforts within sanctuaries. Small-scale restoration includes efforts in the 41 sanctuaries not included in the 2014 Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement (Harris Creek, Little Choptank, Tred Avon, St. Mary’s and Manokin sanctuaries) and not included in the legislated Eastern Bay Region project (Cox Creek, Eastern Bay, Prospect Bay, Prospect Bay- Mill Hill, Miles River and Wye River sanctuaries). This effort will be for the 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 oyster spat production and planting
