The City of Norwalk is requesting bids from qualified bidders to construct a new three-story
brick masonry elevator shaft at the existing Norwalk Historical Society Museum to receive a
limited-use limited-access elevator. Match existing exterior materials and decorative
detailing. Modify the building interior to accommodate the new shaft and openings into
existing spaces and to provide an elevator machine room. Provide electrical and plumbing
rough-in for future accessible lavatory. Add alternates include modifications to existing
spaces to provide areas of refuge and accessibility improvements to existing doorways. The
budget for this project is $400,000.00. The requirements of this project are outlined in
greater detail under Section 2 Scope of Work/Project Specifications.
