This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of BIDS. The Rowell Avenue Sidewalk Gap Closure Between 1st St and Curtis Ave (P-922) is a Public Works construction project to install new sidewalk and ADA ramps in front of Pennekampe Elementary School. The work includes, but is not limited to, constructing 3,800 square feet of 4” thick PCC sidewalk, 6 new ADA curb ramps, 800 linear feet of new variable height curb, 640 linear feet of new variable height curb and gutter, 1,525 square feet new 8” thick PCC cross gutter, 1,060 square feet 8” thick PCC driveway, 52 TN install 6” thick asphalt, 200 LF paint curb, remove and relocate/replace existing handrails, remove and relocate existing chain gate bollards, install city furnished water meter vault including cutting mouseholes, adjust to grade utilities, remove/relocate or replace signs/post, remove crosswalk striping, install new crosswalk striping, install vehicle feedback signs, remove landscape and trees, install landscaping and irrigation, and traffic control measures. Other Details The base bid includes all work described above. Additive bids include the potential of disposal of asbestos containing pavement fabric, if encountered. Special Instructions: All onsite work shall be performed during the 2023 Manhattan Beach Unified School District Summer School Break, starting no sooner than June 19, 2023 and ending no later than August 18, 2023, unless otherwise approved by the City which is no more than 44 workings days onsite Pertinent Project Information: All areas of work are to remain open and accessible to pedestrian traffic per regulatory agency requirements during construction. The City does not have any readily available staging area; it is therefore the Contractor’s responsibility to procure a staging area at his/her expense.
