Femtosecond Laser System

On behalf of the Industrial and Manufacturing System Engineering Department (IMSE), Iowa State University is requesting bids for a femtosecond laser system, which will be used to conduct novel research in the area of advanced manufacturing and materials processing. Particular research topics include: 1) advanced nanomanufacturing of functional materials; 2) fundamental investigation on laser-matter interaction; 3) ultrafast laser processing of metallic components for enhanced durability towards applications in aerospace/automotive industry, and biomedical/electronic devices; 4) post-processing of 3D printed components for improved properties. Suppliers may bid new, used, OR demo units. Suppliers should read all materials carefully and note the due date.
